Third edition. Demy 8vo., pp xvi, 444 and with a handsome engraved portrait frontispiece by W.T. Fry after Vansemer (a little light browning, tissue guard a little more so) and pp x, 413,  blank,  Longman's list, marbled edges. Half-titles present but browned on their board sides from the binding. Full polished calf with gilt rules and titling. Small scratch mark on upper board of volume II, both volumes slightly rubbed at edges. Armorial bookplates (one on lower paste-down) depicting an earl's coronet with a thistle centre above an eagle displayed. A very good set. Two volumes.
