There is a note in the editor's hand on front free endpaper of volume I 'Rebound 1965, after use as copy, prepared by M.C. and A. H. K, for the revised edition'.All three volumes have extensive editorial notes in manuscript, tipped-in slips of the texts of 'new' letters and numerous corrections and stylistic changes for the printers.
